Ed Caner (Violin, Viola, Vocals)

 

Violinist/Fiddler Ed Caner has been labeled by the Cleveland Plain Dealer as "One of the most versatile musicians on the planet." During the past 15 years, he has performed as a sideman for over 50 major acts, including Smokey Robinson, Page and Plant, Natalie Cole, Luciano Pavarotti, Mel Torme, Ray Price, and Leftover Salmon. He served as interim Concertmaster of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra and performed as section violinist with The Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Cleveland Ballet, and Cleveland Opera Orchestra. Ed has also performed over 750 shows as soloist with Runaway Truck Ramp (Boulder, Colorado), Wayne Newton (Las Vegas), The New Barleycorn (Ireland/USA), and the Broadway musical "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" (New York/Cleveland).

 

Ed holds a master's degree in violin performance from Cleveland State University, a master's degree in Physics and Entrepreneurship from Case Western Reserve University, and undergraduate degrees in physics and engineering. He is also a published author with extensive teaching experience in music, acoustics, physics, and technology entrepreneurship (see www.xviolin.com for more details). He currently lives in Jaroso, Colorado where he runs a stress-free recording studio in an old church on Mark's farm.


 

Mark Dudrow (Cello, Mandolin, Guitar, Vocals)

 

Mark Dudrow comes from a musical family and has been playing the cello since 1973, also dabbling in mandolin and other fretted instruments. He plays a wide variety of musical styles including classical, bluegrass, celtic and rock n roll and can claim diverse musical influences from Bach to Black Sabbath, from Del McCoury to the Dead Kennedys….

Mark has worked with many artists in the Northern New Mexico/Colorado region including Tony Schueller's Desert Highway, Adrienne Braswell, Chipper Thompson, Mason Brown, Roger Landes, Don Richmond, Kim Trieber and Jenny Bird, and has played in the cello section of the San Juan Symphony Orchestra.

In 2001, He was a featured artist in the “Fiddling While Rome Burns” Ice Music Festival, playing cellos made of ice at 12,000 feet above sea level .

Other distinctions include playing at the Taos Solar Music Fest 2005 and performing solo to open the dedication ceremony for the Great Sand Dunes becoming a National Park.

Mark performs on two very unique instruments. His one of a kind koa mandolin was created by Taos luthier, Tony Sutherland who creates beautiful instruments with special attention to rich tone. His cello is made of carbon fiber by the Luis and Clark company in Boston. MA..

He is no stranger to the back roads and highways of the southwestern USA…when not traveling to play music, he retires to his adobe church in Southern Colorado to make beautiful things out of clay, garden and learn more tunes……
